Last Sunday, September 25, the Spanish Free Pistol Championship took place at the Olympic Shooting High-performance Sports Center in Granada.
Both the arbitration and the punctuality in the schedules were impeccable. The free pistol championship was the last competition, since it is considered the premier category of precision, as the culmination of two days of competitions in various sports modalities in all possible categories.
This championship consists of a preliminary phase of 15 minutes of preparation that once finished, the competition begins, which consists of 60 shots in 90 minutes, at a precision target located 50 meters away, controlled with electronic targets and scoring monitors.
The athlete from the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club, Jordi Francesc Balañá Arbó, competed for the first time in the test, managing to finish among the top ten classified, obtaining a deserved ninth position, since there was a participation of more than thirty athletes.
The winner of this edition of the Championship was the athlete José María Muñoz Palomo from the Isla de León Olympic Shooting Club.
We congratulate our participant once again for placing the Club de Tir Olimpic Cambrils in the front line of the competition and for the results that are being achieved in these championships that are so important in the calendar of the Spanish federation, as well as our Club and Cambrils in the elite of the international world of sport shooting that they represent.
