On Sunday, March 20, 2022, the Spanish RFEDETO Cup Precision Championship 9mm PB took place at the facilities of the Catalan Shooting Federation in Mollet del Vallès. The athletes representing the Club de Tir Olímpic Cambrils were Carlos Juárez, Luis Miguel Cortezón, Luis María Calderó and Fernando Juan Collado. This competition is extremely difficult as it consists of a first precision phase, consisting of thirty shots in series of five in 2 minutes and 30 seconds for each series, and a second speed duel phase, consisting of thirty shots in series of five in 20 seconds for each series.
At the order of attention of the room judge, the athlete must put the competing arm in the initial position at 45 degrees, facing the ground. The moment the target turns, a target at 25 meters, the competition begins; it is at that moment that the shooter must prepare the greatest concentration of himself for the competition.
Of all our representatives, with the participation of our champion of Catalonia Luis Miguel Cortezón who has obtained the score of 560 points in the Seniors category. This competition is unique throughout the national field and gives rise to the general classification.
In the random security test, it was our athlete Luis Miguel Cortezón’s turn, the table judges controlled the weight of his gun trigger, giving the amount of regulatory resistance.
All our athletes wear the official sports team of the club, displaying the name of our city. Today has been a cloudy day, but there has been adequate light for the practice of the event. As a result of COVID and finding the bar closed, one of our participants had the delicacy to prepare a breakfast for all the colleagues in our club.
Both these athletes and the compressed air athletes agree to highlight that thanks to the training sessions and the club’s monitors, the results of these competitions are very satisfactory and show an evident general improvement.
