On the 4th, 5th and 6th of April, the President’s Cup of sporting weapons took place at the Barcelona Shooting Club, located on the Montjuïc mountain in the same city, with spectacular views, corresponding to the Spanish Federation’s competition calendar where athletes from all over the state participate in the following disciplines, Standard Pistol, Standard Shotgun.
On Friday in the morning the Fuego Central precision rounds began and in the afternoon the rapid fire rounds of Fuego Central in the same order as in the morning. At the end of the competition day, the prize-giving took place this time inside the premises due to the strong wind that was blowing on the terrace, where they are usually held.
On Saturday, the 9mm Parabellum pistol competition began in the 25-meter gallery and, parallel to the 50-meter gallery, the Free pistol competition, this time it was possible to deliver on the terrace with privileged views of the city of Barcelona.
Finally, on Sunday, the Standard pistol competition took place, the largest of all, where several rounds were held to accommodate all the athletes and after the last round, the award ceremony proceeded.
The organization by the Catalan Shooting Federation has been of a very high level.
In this Cup, the athlete of the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club, Jordi Balañá, participated in all the modalities, obtaining four diplomas from the Spanish Federation, corresponding to a fourth place in Standard Pistol, a fifth place in 9mm pistol, another fifth place in free pistol and finally a sixth place in pistol.
