Participation in the Generalitat Free Pistol Trophy. The athlete from the Cambrils Shooting Club Jordi Balañà Arbó obtained the second position in the Trophy.
Last Sunday, October 13, the Generalitat Free Pistol Trophy took place at the facilities of the Catalan Olympic Shooting Federation located at the Public Security Institute of Catalonia, in Mollet de Vallès. The competition started at nine with the round of Veteran athletes, once the second round was over it was for the Senior athletes. The competition is the longest within the precision categories. The athletes are called to the shooting line and after waiting a reasonable amount of time for everyone to be ready, the 15 minutes of rehearsal begin and then 90 minutes to make 60 shots. At first glance, a minute and a half per shot seems like a long time, but it ends up being too short due to the complexity of the category, due to the distance that separates the athlete from the target, 50 meters on a precision target.
The competition took place with some fog at the beginning that spread throughout the morning.
Two athletes from the Cambrils Shooting Club participated. The athlete from our Club, Jordi Balañà, obtained second place in the Senior category, Francisco Salinas obtained tenth place. The winner in the Senior category of this edition of the Trophy was the athlete from the Barcelona Shooting Club, Javier Camacho.
