Last Sunday 10 July, the Catalan Speed Pistol Championship took place at the facilities of the Catalan Olympic Shooting Federation located at the Institut de Seguretat Pública de Catalunya, in
Mollet del Vallès. The competition started punctually at 9 in the morning, with moderate sun and heat.
For this competition the federation has about twenty electronic targets at a distance of 25 meters that have allowed four athletes to participate at the same time as it must shoot at 5 different
targets for each athlete with a distance between them of 75 centimeters.
The speed pistol is the only Olympic modality, it consists of 60 shooting features in two equal parts, made up of three groups of two series, in eight seconds, six seconds and four seconds, after
these last two series, it takes place in the first series of veteran athletes.
Before resuming the second part of the competition, a draw is made to change positions and the athlete does not throw again from the same place.
The Cambrils Shooting Club was attended by the athlete Jordi Francesc Balañà who took fourth place in the senior category.
The winner of this edition of the Trophy was the athlete from the Club de Girona, Antonio Caballero.
