PRESIDENT’S CUP OF SPORTING WEAPONS.

On the 5th, 6th and 7th of May, the President’s Cup of Sports Weapons took place, organized by the Catalan Shooting Federation and corresponding to the Spanish Federation’s calendar of competitions, in which athletes from all over the state participate in the following modalities , Standard Pistol, Central Fire, Free Pistol and 9mm pistol in the facilities of the Barcelona Olympic Shooting Club, located on the Montjuïc mountain in the same city, with spectacular views and a perfect climate for the practice of this sport. On Friday, the Standard pistol competition took place where three rounds were held to accommodate all the participants and after the last round the award ceremony proceeded. Saturday The competition began with the central fire precision phase with three rounds, just finished and with an hour of rest the free pistol competition began with almost two hours between test and competition, once the free pistol competition was finished , approximately at one o’clock in the afternoon, time to have a light meal in the same club facilities, then at three o’clock in the afternoon, the rounds of Duelo de Fuego Central begin in the same order as in the morning. At the end of the competition day, the awards ceremony will take place on the terrace of the Club. Finally, on Sunday, the 9mm Parabellum competition takes place with three rounds of participants filling all the positions in the two 25-meter galleries that the club has. Three athletes from the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club participated in this Cup, Jordi Balañà, Lluís Cortezón in the senior category and Lluís María Calderó in the Senior Veteran category. It should be noted that this year the Cambrian sportsman Jordi Balañà has participated in all categories, obtaining a total of three diplomas from the Spanish Federation, fifth place and team champion as a member of the Catalan Federation’s Free pistol and Central Fire team obtaining the third diploma as sixth classified, an eighth place in the standard pistol modality and a fourteenth position in the 9mm pistol, the athlete Lluís Cortezón has obtained a meritorious eighth position in the 9mm pistol and finally the veteran athlete Lluís María Calderó has obtained a twentieth placed in its category. We can only congratulate our participants for placing the Catalan Federation and the Club de Tiro Olímpico Cambrils at the forefront of the competitions, as well as our Club and Cambrils in the elite of sports shooting that it represents.
