When our President told me to be part of the round table, I thought about it. I don’t like speaking in public very much, and besides, I like talking about people, regardless of their gender. But I thought it convenient to accept, it is evident that the practice of shooting is a sport of minorities and the minority is accentuated if we talk about practitioners. So on Thursday, March 20, a few minutes after half past five in the afternoon, I arrived at the Casal Municipal de la Gent Gran to meet the rest of the members of the round table “Women and sport in Cambrils”. The athletes arriving: Carla and Ariadna are young Laura and Mireia, they are young, very young. Gemma Solé also arrives, who will act as moderator and Mónica Romano, equality technician. Once the introductions were made, we began the act. Since Cambrils magazine is already publishing an article that was discussed at the round table, I will talk about what I felt. I felt proud to represent my Club: the demeanor of its members has made me feel like one of them from the first day and their advice on shooting practice has made me find a tool for personal development in this sport. I was happy to see the human quality, maturity, preparation and poise of these young athletes, which goes beyond their sports curriculum. It is necessary to work to eliminate inequalities, (not only in sports, but in all areas of life) and for this reason, thank the presence and participation of men in this act. If we want to know how others think and how they feel, be they men or women, if we want to resolve differences or inequalities, we must do it together. When I finished, I left thinking about how I would like our sport to be promoted. In how I would like our Club to have people of all ages and genders, but above all young practitioners who would give us projection for the future. I do not want to finish without thanking, on behalf of myself and the Club, the organization of the event to give us a voice and congratulate them for their good work.
