On January 17-19, the Air Pistol Federation Cup took place at the Olympic Shooting Sports Development Center of the autonomous community of La Rioja near the city of Logroño. These facilities are quite new and have air conditioning, which is very necessary at this time, since the temperatures have been very low, reaching zero degrees last Sunday. During these days of competition, the attendance of athletes has been more than 160 participants, many of whom participate individually and as a Federation team.
The facilities allow sixty athletes to compete in the same round.
Two athletes from the Cambrils Shooting Club have participated, one of whom, Joan Pallares, is part of the Catalan Federation Veterans team, winning the team championship.
On the other hand, in the senior category, the athlete Jordi Balañá took part, achieving a creditable twentieth final position.
This category is Olympic and many athletes fought to achieve good scores to be able to participate in international Championships.
The organisation was of a very high standard.
These were very exciting days in which an atmosphere of great cordiality was breathed among all the participants.
