On April 21-22 and 23, at the Prado Salobre Sports Modernization Center in Lardero (La Rioja), the IV Phase of the PRESIDENT CUP OF HISTORICAL WEAPONS of Muzzleloading and RETROLOADING was held. On behalf of the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club, our colleagues Joan Ferraté Rosals, Pedro Rofes Vernís, Francisco Javier Vernet Medico, Pedro Antonio Pardo Reche and Jesús Arribas García participated.
The competition had a very high participation, being very difficult to organize the event with so many athletes. In said competition many of the best of the national level gathered, coming from all the regions of Spain.
Our athletes obtained very satisfactory results. It is worth highlighting the results obtained by our partner Jesús Arribas, who was runner-up in Remington (revolver combined at 25 and 50 meters) and Third in Tanzutsu (matchlock pistol).
The competition has lasted three days, Saturday being the most complicated of them, due to sudden changes in the weather, which caused visibility to vary constantly, creating situations of continuous correction in the aiming area.
The center has very complete and suitable facilities for the practice of sports shooting. They were also very well cared for, which made the stay very pleasant. During the event there was a Foodtruck in which good quality food was served at a reasonable price, which prevented the athletes from having to travel to regain their strength.
As always, in this type of championship, there was a very good atmosphere. The participants commented on the vicissitudes of the competitions carried out and shared knowledge about the solutions to the different difficulties that these modalities have.
It only remains to congratulate our members for placing the Catalan Federation and the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club at the forefront of the competitions and for participating in these very important championships in the Spanish Federation calendar, as well as our Club and Cambrils in the international elite of shooting sports that it represents.
