On February 21, 22 and 23, the second phase of the President’s Cup historical weapons championship organized by the Royal Spanish Olympic Shooting Federation was held in Elche, Alicante. 86 athletes participated in this competition and the following athletes participated on behalf of the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club: Jesús Arribas, Pedro Pardo, Héctor Vila, Joan Ferrate, Pedro Rofes and F. Javier Vernet. During the three days of competition, the historical weapons modalities were alternated, with the following results being achieved by our members: Jesús Arribas, 1st place in Tanzutu (Japanese matchlock pistol). Pedro Pardo, 3rd place in Mariette (percussion revolver 25 m.), 3rd place in Donald Malson (percussion revolver 50 m.), 3rd. position in Remington (sum of the two previous modalities). The rest of the athletes, although with respectable scores, did not manage to get on the podium. While waiting for better results in the following phases of the championship, there is nothing left to do but continue training. F.J.Vernet
