Organized by the Igualada Shooting Club, Weapons that were allowed: Weapons designed and used as equipment in the armed forces, both military and police, prior to 1960. The competition was 100 meters divided into two categories: one with open sights and another with diopter sights, both in 2 positions: lying down and knee on the ground. There has also been the sitting competition, out of competition. They have all been done on a standard pistol target.
The facilities in this club are fantastic, the organization in charge of the Igualada Shooting Club was impeccable, throughout the day that the championship lasted, a climate of camaraderie, concord and harmony reigned. There has been a total participation of 25 athletes and from our club, 3 athletes have participated, José M. García Mestres, Rafael García Mestres and Francisco J. Vernet Medico, achieving fourth, tenth and eleventh place in the championship. At the end of the competition, all the athletes took part in a meal consisting of an impressive rice paella. It only remains to congratulate our athletes for placing the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club at the forefront of sport shooting competitions and for the results and dissemination they are achieving in these important championships.
