This weekend the Iberian Compressed Air Cup was held at the Catalonia Police School, located in Mollet del Vallès. The participation was remarkable, with a total of 86 athletes competing in various categories: juniors, veterans, seniors and masters.
Joan Pallarès, representative of the CAMBRILS OLYMPIC SHOOTING CLUB, shone in the senior veterans category, achieving a meritorious second place and the silver medal by accumulating 517 points, just 14 less than the champion, who reached 531 points. Although the overall score was not as high as in other editions, the club stood out and climbed onto the podium.
The organization of the event was impeccable, and the weather was good as it cleared up before the competitions, which allowed for easy access to the facilities. The afternoon showed intense competition with renowned athletes, such as Sonia Franquet and Lino García, who recorded scores of over 550 points.
In addition to the competition, the Cup allowed for interaction and the establishment of new friendships between athletes from various parts of Spain, including representatives from Madrid, Aragon, Galicia, Asturias, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands. The experience has been rewarding, highlighting the spirit of camaraderie that characterizes this sport.
In short, the event not only provided a platform for competition, but also an opportunity to share experiences and strengthen the shooting community in Spain.
