Ham competition.

Within the party program announced in our official calendar. Last Sunday, December 26, San Esteban festival was celebrated as is traditional and despite not being able to do it the previous year due to the restrictions of COVID 19, the popular ham shooting competition, following the rules established in the open air At 9:00 a.m. a popular breakfast began for all members of our entity and family based on pica – pica, bread with tomato, a whole ham, drinks and snacks for all attendees. The participation was of 24 athletes and their families. The prizes consist of: A ham for the best 10 obtained in the category of Cal. 22 Standard. A ham obtained for the best ten of Central Fire (large caliber). A ham obtained for the best 10 in the category of Historical Weapons (muzzleloader). A ham obtained for the best 10 in the Pneumatics (Compressed air) modality. The prizes were not cumulative, in the end the rest of the athletes who have participated and have not won a prize, entered the draw for another ham and 5 consolation prizes. Each competitor can do it in the 4 modalities, it is emphasized that this competition is very popular and depends on luck. The best 10 of each target within the modality is awarded, taking into account that if the first ten is made, it is no longer possible to continue competing on the same target, since the second ten would lead to the cancellation of the entire competition and would score the worst of them all, it is curious to see that a very good athlete may only fire one shot and it turns out to be a poorly centered ten and thus has to withdraw from this modality without being able to get the maximum prize and an athlete who normally does not he is too good at competing get to enter the best ten focused on any modality taking the prize. In all the modalities, a maximum of 20 shots can be fired, with the exception of the Historical Weapons, which is 13. The winners of the prizes each were: PEDRO ANTONIO PARDO RECHE, in the Pneumatics (compressed air) modality. CARLES GUILLEMAT ROCAMORA, in the Historic Weapons mode (muzzleloader). JORDI FRANCESC BALAÑA ARBO, in the Central Fire modality (gros caliber). FRANCISCO JAVIER VERNET MEDICO, in the Standard modality (cal. 22). JORDI AMOROS VIDAL, in the draw for the 5th Ham. All athletes participated in the remaining 5 awards at the end of the competition.
