Within the program of festivities announced in our town. On December 26, the feast of San Esteban, the popular ham shooting competition was held as is traditional, at 9:00 a.m. first with a popular breakfast for all members and family of our entity, having bread with tomato, a whole ham already cut previously, drinks and snacks for all attendees. Which was 26 athletes and their families. The prizes consisted of: A ham obtained in the IPSC competition that was held the day before Christmas. A ham for the best 10 obtained in Cal 22 Standard. in the Historical Weapons category. A ham for the best 10 in the centerfire category. A ham also for the best 10 obtained in the veterans’ compressed air pneumatic category, a ham for juniors also in air. In the end, the rest of the shooting competitors who participated and did not win a prize entered the draw for another ham and 5 consolation prizes. Each competitor was able to compete in the 4 categories, highlighting that this competition is very popular and depends on luck, like the lottery. The best 10 of each target within the category is awarded a prize, taking into account that if the first 10 is made, one cannot continue competing in the same target, since the second 10 would lead to the cancellation of the entire competition and the worst 10 of all of them would score points. It is curious to see that a very good athlete may only shoot one shot and it turns out to be a badly focused 10 and thus must withdraw from this category without being able to win the maximum prize and an athlete who is normally not very good at competing manages to focus the best 10 in this category, taking the prize. In all categories you can compete up to a maximum of 20 shots except for Historical Weapons, which is 13. The winners of each award were: Carles Madruga in the (IPSC) category, Alba Fernández in the junior category (pneumatic) and Tomás Pallarés in Seniors (pneumatic).- Jesús Arribas in the Historical category (breech-loading).- Jordi Amorós in the (centerfire) category, Josep Escoda in the (standard Cal. 22) category, and Luis Llorens in the 5th Ham draw. Once again this year this competition has been a real success.
