Within the festival program of our town. Today, December 26, Sant Esteve, the popular ham competition was held, as is traditional. The day began at 9 in the morning, with a lunch for all the members and family of our entity: bread with tomato, a whole ham, drinks and snacks for all attendees. The participation was 30 athletes and their families. The prizes (not cumulative) for this competition are the following: A ham for the best 10 in the standard mode. A ham for the best 10 in the Thick Caliber modality. A ham for the best 10 in the historical weapons category (Muzzleloader). A ham for the best 10 in the compressed air pneumatic (Pistol) modality. A ham for the best 10 in the compressed air pneumatic (Carbine) modality. Each participant can compete in their 5 modalities. It should be noted that this very popular test depends entirely on luck. In each modality, the best 10 of each target is awarded. When an athlete makes the first 10, they can no longer continue shooting on the same target or modality, since the second 10 would disqualify the target. It is curious to see how a very good athlete cannot win, it may happen that he only shoots once in one of the modalities and, despite making a 10, he remains poorly centered and cannot get the prize and on the other hand, a shooter who normally It’s not too good, get the best 10 focused on this modality and take the ham. In all modalities you can compete with a maximum of 20 hits with the exception of historical weapons, which is 13. The winners of each modality were: JOSÉ LUIS ZABAY, JESÚS ARRIBAS, DANIEL VIDAL, PEDRO ANTONIO PARDO AND JULIACS BENAVENT. At the end of the competition, the shooters who did not win an award entered the draw for 15 consolation prizes and a 6th ham, which in this case went to JOSE MIGUEL ANTON. Once again this Christmas competition has been a true success, a good time for everyone.
