• 05/08/2023 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP OF ANCIENT WEAPONS.
• Between July 29 and August 5, the European Ancient Weapons Championship was held in Chateauroux, France.
  The competitions took place at the National Shooting Sport Center of the French Shooting Federation located in Chateauroux-Deols.
  These facilities are located in a former NATO base, used by the US Air Force between 1951 and 1967. The facilities occupy a total of 100 hectares, housing inside all the facilities for the practice of all types of shooting. 5 skeet shooting ranges, 25-50 m gallery. with 80 firing points, compressed air gallery, 100m field, 300m field. and field of 600 m. Service area, restaurant and annexes.
  Fantastic facilities that will be used for the Paris 2024 Olympic Shooting modality.
  Athletes from 17 countries attended: Switzerland, Sweden, Slovakia, Portugal, Poland, Norway, Hungary, Great Britain. Czechia, Finland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Austria, Holland, France and Belgium, making a total of 361 athletes. The largest delegation was the Spanish one with 55 athletes, followed by the German one with 24 athletes.
  The competition was very disputed, given the great prizes won by the German delegation.
  Spain was able to achieve a total of five Gold medals, nine Silver medals and three Bronze, both individual and team, as well as several Diplomas for fourth, fifth and sixth places. On this occasion, the athlete from our club, Jesús Arribas, could not enjoy the benefits of victory, getting well-deserved places in the ranking.
  The weather did not favor the development of the competitions too much either, with minimum temperatures of 13º and maximum of 21º, constant wind of up to 95 km/h. rain and practically no sun. Unpleasant weather that accompanied us during the return trip. Writing F.J. Vernet.
