CATALAN AIR PISTOL CHAMPIONSHIP 2025.

Last Sunday, November 2nd, the Catalan Air Pistol Championship took place in the enormous indoor pavilion of the 10-meter air pistol Olympic discipline. The competition featured over 60 electronic targets provided by the Catalan Federation of Olympic Shooting, located at the Public Security Institute of Catalonia in Mollet del Vallès.
The competition was divided into two rounds, as this is the most competitive event of the year due to its Olympic status. The first round began promptly at 9:00 AM, and the second around 10:45 AM.
The competition includes a 15-minute practice round where athletes can practice shooting at the target, and the results are immediately displayed on the monitors. Once this time is over, the judges announce over the PA system that the competition has begun. Athletes then have 75 minutes to fire 60 shots.
After the practice round, the top eight finishers in the Women’s, Junior Men’s, and Senior categories compete in the Olympic final. In this final, athletes fire 10 shots in two rounds of five. Once these rounds are completed, the elimination phase begins. Every two shots, the lowest-ranked athlete is eliminated based on their score until only one remains.
From the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club, Joan Pallares participated, obtaining a very commendable third position in the Veteran category, and Jordi Balañá, in the qualifying competition, finished in second position and in the final, he finished in fourth position in the championship in the Senior category after maintaining third position in the final shots. Also participating were Joan Herrerias from the Flix Shooting Club and Daniel Matarin from the Sabadell Shooting Club. These results place the Cambrils Club among the main Clubs in Catalonia in this modality.
