On February 24-25 and 26, the II PRESIDENT CUP AAHH- FORWARD AND BACKHOE was held in ELCHE, (Alicante). On behalf of the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club, our colleagues Joan Ferraté Rosals, Pedro Rofes Vernis, Francisco Javier Vernet Medico, Pedro Antonio Pardo Reche, Jesús Arribas García and Héctor Vila Cerdà participated. At the beginning of the competition, a minute of silence was observed for the loss of the athlete “CAPTAIN” an institution in this Club, at noon we were offered a rice paella for the participants.
In said competition, 49 participants corresponding to most of the best national athletes in this type of modalities gathered: Eloy Gonzalo 100M, Freire Y Brull 5 100M, Freire Y Brull 6 100M, Martín Cerezo 25M, Núñez De Castro 4 50M, Núñez De Castro 3 50M, Piñal 1 25M, Piñal 2 25M.
On the part of our athletes, this time the expected results have not been met, contrary to what has been happening in previous editions.
We hope that in the next season of competitions in this type of modalities the results will be better as we are used to. The day was quite cold, but the facilities had an excellent climate that helped the competition run smoothly with very suitable facilities for practicing sport shooting. Throughout the day that the championship lasted, good camaraderie and concord reigned among all the participants, as is typical in this type of event. It only remains to congratulate our participants for placing the Catalan Federation and the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club at the forefront of the competitions and for participating in these very important championships in the Spanish Federation calendar, as well as our Club and Cambrils in the international elite of shooting sports that it represents.
