From December 7 to 11, the Spanish Air Pistol Championship took place at the Olympic Shooting Sports Modernization Center in the autonomous community of La Rioja near the city of Logroño. These facilities are quite new and have air conditioning. , very necessary at this time, since the temperatures have been very low, reaching zero degrees last Sunday. During these days of competition, the influx of athletes has been more than 180 participants, many of whom participate in all possible modalities, individually, by Federation team, by Club team and by mixed couples. The facilities allow sixty athletes to compete in the same batch.
The athlete Jordi Francesc Balañá from the Cambrils Shooting Club has participated in two modalities, individually, as part of the Catalan Federation team and in mixed pairs together with the athlete from the Barcelona Shooting Club Pilar Montero, both wearing the four-barred team of the Catalan Federation Olympic Shooting and getting the fourteenth final position, this competition closed the championship Sunday at noon. They have been some very exciting days in which an atmosphere of great cordiality was breathed among all the participants. The organization, except for some scares with the computer program to control the competitions, has been of a very high level. It only remains to congratulate our participant for placing the Cambrils Olympic Shooting Club at the forefront of the competition and for the results it is achieving in these very important championships in the Spanish Federation calendar, as well as in our Club and Cambrils in the elite international shooting sport that it represents.
