Participation in the Free Pistol Championship of Catalonia.
Last Sunday, June 20, the Catalan Free Pistol Championship took place at the facilities of the Catalan Federation of Olympic Shooting located in the Public Security Institute of Catalonia, in Mollet de Vallès. The gallery is equipped with electronic targets and flags to indicate to the athletes the direction and strength of the wind, since it affects the trajectory of the bullet due to the distance of 50 meters, the longest that is carried out with a pistol of the caliber .22 LR, that’s why this free pistol mode is the most complex of all precision modes.
The competition was divided into 3 shifts starting at 9:00 a.m. on time, the 15-minute test and then the 90-minute competition, where 60 shots must be fired at a precision target. The climatic factor was not optimal since it started in the morning with rain and wind.
The shooter of our Club de Tir Olímpic Cambrils Jordi Francesc Balañá Arbó obtained the 5th position in the Senior category. The winner of this edition of the Championship was the athlete from the Club de Sabadell Francisco Cabrera Martínez.
